I was so busy with my son and my parents this weekend, I didn’t tend to the blog. I was busy having adventures!
I took them to Lake of the Ozarks for the weekend. It was so much fun and such a great experience. I think maybe I even started a new family tradition for the 4th of July. My parents had such a great time they are already talking about what we could do next year. I love these memories we are making for my son.
For Day 32, we went parasailing. Neither of my parents had ever been. It was great to see them out of their comfort zone but accepting of trying new things. It was cloudy and windy, but perfect for parasailing. We went out on the boat and then my parents went up together and then my son and I went up together. Our parachute was a giant yellow happy face. It was perfect.
For Day 33, we went to Ha Ha Tonka State Park. I caught myself many times letting my mind wander down the trails and wishing I could go down them. My stepdad still doesn’t have a lot of strength after recovering from cancer. We did walk up to the castle ruins and explore that area. The overlooks were breathtaking. Then we walked up to the water tower. It wasn’t long distances, but I think it was enough for them. It was really great just getting out of the normal routines and spending quality time together. I have lost so many people in my life and I value my relationships immensely. I love being able to include people I love into my adventures.
