My morning started at 5 a.m. driving a terrifying large beast of a vehicle 2 ½ hours away to Raleigh, NC (from Charlotte). Tired and groggy I crossed the miles, saw the sunrise, just to find out when I arrived that my appointment had been cancelled. A little frustrated I decided to make the best of it. I found a grease spoon diner on the side of the road (recommended by Yelp). It was perfect breakfast and a much needed coffee infusion. I then met a friend of a friend who introduced me to the coolest little road side BBQ dive. It smelled amazing but I was too full to eat.
Still having some time to kill before my next appointment, I went to the North Carolina Museum of Art. I found myself completely inspired by some of the paintings and 2 of the installations.
My afternoon appointment was at a prison, which was fun for me. I got to brainstorm with the Fabrication Department of what would need to be done to turn the vehicle into a SWAT vehicle or/and a prisoner transport vehicle.
I drove my gigantic vehicle back to Charlotte through some storms and rush hour traffic. I had no need to go find an adventure today; it found me.
