I’ve been to the Overland Park Arboretum once but I didn’t do any of the hiking trails. I decided I needed to explore it. It’s only $3 to get in and it was a beautiful day. First, I hiked all of the mulch covered trails. There were about 5 miles of trails. It was beautiful and most ran along a creek. I saw a small doe in the woods. I think this would be a great place to go when I start running trails again.
After hiking all of the trails I wanted to go through the Arboretum and gather up some inspiration. I’m so glad I did. The flowers were absolutely amazing and provided some great inspiration for some future paintings.
I even saw a hummingbird moth. I’ve never seen one before and was surprised to find several with their long tongues fluttering from flower to flower.
The Arboretum also offers a sculpture garden walk which is very inspiring. Some how I missed this the first time I came.
