Adventure Challenge – Day 73: Charity Miles

Day 73

Sticking to my goal of preparing for my 10K I have started the Couch to 10K running program. I used it a few years ago to get up to a 5K and was very impressed with it. I’ve been good at running every other day. It is hard for me to figure out how to come up with a real plan for preparing for trails. I decided to go out and just walk the Kill Creek trail about 20 minutes from my home. Unfortunately it had rained so the dirt trails were all blocked off. I ended up walking the paved trails instead. I also ended up going much further than I intended with 8.25 miles. 

It was a beautiful day and great walk. In addition, I recently discovered a phone app called Charity Miles. I downloaded it, and now use it to while training and exercising. My time translates into corporate donations to a charity of my choosing. Definitely check it out! 

Oh, and the combination of running and 8.25 mile walk…well, I may have to slow down a little. Needless to say, I ended up requiring 2 days of rest to recover.

I believe that what you put out comes back. I believe and live by the belief of treating others like you want to be treated. I enjoy stimulating conversation, and a good sense of humor. Caffeine is my drug of choice, and coffee over chess or good conversation is my luxury. I am strong but sometimes feel small. I strive to be my authentic me.
